BCCI retains Rahul Dravid as ‘Head coach’ of the Indian Cricket Team

BCCI has officially extended the contract of Rahul Dravid as the head coach and the coaching staff of the Indian Cricket team.

In latest news, BCCI has officially extended the contract of Rahul Dravid as the head coach of the Indian Cricket team. With this, the contract for the coaching staff of the national team has also received an extension. The other members of the include including Vikram Rathour (batting coach), Paras Mhambrey (bowling coach), and T Dilip (fielding coach).

Notably, the tenure of the revised contract has not yet been revealed. However, Rahul Dravid is expected to continue till the end of T20 World Cup 2024 at the least.

Rahul Dravid took over from Ravi Shastri as the head coach of Indian Cricket team after India’s ICC T20 World Cup campaign in 2021. His initial two-year term concluded with India’s runner up finish in the recently concluded ICC ODI Cricket World Cup in India.

It is noteworthy mentioning that the position of the Indian Cricket Team Head coach was initially offered to Ashish Nehra who turned down the proposal. Nehra is known for his coaching success with the IPL’s Gujarat Titans.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to their social media handles to officially announce the retention of Rahul Dravid along with the rest of the coaching staff.
