Wedding is one of life’s biggest events and every father makes sure that it is the most memorable one for their daughter and son-in-law. However, in India, although the practice of dowry has been illegalized today, many families still consider it in the name of ‘custom’. Such a case has from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad come to light when the bride’s family decided to raise their voice against the illogical practice and beat the groom and his family for making the demand.
A video of this incident went viral on the Internet in very little time of it being downloaded. In the clip, a groom can be seen badly beaten by the bride’s relatives and wedding guests for demanding Rs. 10 lakh dowry in the nikah.
