Bhadrak: In yet another horrifying incident, a woman was brutally thrashed by her in-laws and later dumped on the street at Pratappur village under Chandbali block in Bhadrak.
The woman was rescued in an unconscious state by her parents who later admitted her in a hospital for treatment.
As per reports, the woman named Rasmita had a love marriage with one Ratikant Nayak of Pratappur four months back. The woman’s parents have alleged that right after the marriage, Rasmita was subjected to domestic violence and physical assault by her husband and in-laws for dowry. However, things reached a boiling point when she was mercilessly beaten and later thrown out on the streets.
Following a complaint, Chandbali Police arrested Rasmita’s husband Ratikant Nayak and started a probe to get a better insight into the matter.
