Union Minister Pradhan requests Odisha CM to implement PM SHRI Scheme

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan requested urged Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to implement the PM SHRI scheme in the State.

Bhubaneswar: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan requested urged Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to implement the PM SHRI scheme in the State.

“As you may be aware that PM SHRI Scheme was launched on September 7, 2022 which aims to establish more than 14,500 PM SHRI School across the country. These schools will display all the components of the National Education Police (NEP) 2020, act as exemplar schools. These schools will also provide high-quality education in an equitable, inclusive and joyful school environment,” Pradhan said in a letter to Patnaik.

“In this regard, all the State/UTs were requested to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSEL), Ministry of Education (MoE), government of India. Till now most of the States/Uts have signed MoU and first phase of selection of schools have been completed. First installment has also been released to implement the scheme for PM SHRI Schools. The second cycle of selection of PM SHRI Schools is in process. However, the State of Odisha is yet to sign the Memorandum of Understanding. Further many letters have been written to State of Odisha including D.O. letter from me to you. However, I am still to hear from State of Odisha for signing of MoU,” he added.

“Therefore, I would request you again to issue necessary directions to the concerned officers to sing MoU for PM SHRI scheme with the Department of School Education & Literacy (DoDEL), Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. These schools will not only focus on cognitive development, but will also create holistic and well-rounded individuals equipped with key 21st century skills. In the PM SHRI School every student will fell welcomed and cared for and wide range of learning experiences will be offered with good physical infrastructure and appropriate resources conducive to learning to all students,” the Union Minister further said.
