Malkangiri: In a case of extreme medical negligence, the nurses of the Malkangiri District Headquarters Hospital were found recording TikTok videos inside the Special Neonatal Care Unit (SNCU).
The videos have gone viral now, prompting the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) to take action against the culprits.
All the videos were posted from a single TikTok handle of a user named Jyoti Ray. In the videos, the nurses are seen singing, dancing and frolicking inside the SNCU. They are in their official scrub and even the hospital beds and nurses’ station can be seen in the video.
In one of the TikTok videos, a nurse can be seen with a sick child.
The purpose of establishing SNCU in a district hospital is to curb the infant mortality rate in the district.
The utter carelessness and casual attitude of the nurses have put the denizens in shock. Meanwhile, the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
