Puri: An FIR has been lodged with Singhadwara Police in the matter of the servitors’ controversy that erupted yesterday. Reportedly, a Pushpalaka servitor has complained that a few servitors verbally abused him.

As per reports, a Pushpalaka servitor named Sankhamitra Singhari has lodged an FIR at the Singhadwara Police Station in the matter of the controversy that had taken place on Friday. The complainant has alleged that a few servitors verbally abused him.

On the basis of the complaint, a case has reportedly been registered and the matter was duly informed to the Srimandira Administration.

It is to be noted that controversy between a few servitors erupted yesterday at the famous Lord Jagannath temple in Puri of Odisha. Reportedly, a Singhari servitor, who has been barred from offering services at the temple, entered the sanctum sanctorum of the temple forcefully and took part in the rituals. Hence, opposing his move, few other servitors of the shrine staged a protest.

Besides, as a mark of protest, they stalled the rituals at the temple. As execution of the rituals was halted the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) held discussions with the servitors and later execution of the rituals were normalised.
