Schools and colleges of these districts of Odisha suspended due to heavy rainfall

Schools and colleges have been suspended for today in a number of districts in Odisha on Wednesday, said reliable reports.

Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall in the state has led to the suspension of schools and colleges across multiple districts today. The monsoon season has caused waterlogging and flood like situation across several areas of the state.

Schools and colleges have been suspended for today in several districts. The districts include: 

Keonjhar, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Subarnapur, Sambalpur, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Boudh, Nayagarh, Balasore and Nuapada

The heavy rainfall in Odisha has been triggered due to an active low pressure over the Bay of Bengal, leading to waterlogging situations at several places. Very heavy rainfall is likely to continue in the state today. Rainfall is expected to decrease from August 3 onwards.
