Police arrest 2 for torching Talcher MLA’s vehicle

Angul: In a success to Talcher Police it arrested at least two youths for setting local MLA Braja Kishore Pradhan’s car to fire at Nandira camp office on December 7.

The held accused duo has been identified as Swadhin Thamb and Jiten Mohanty.

Informing on the motive of the held duo behind the crime police said the duo was having political enmity with the MLA and might have taken the step to avenge the same.

Notably, on December 7 night some unidentified miscreants torched Talcher MLA Braja Kishore Pradhan’s SUV at his camp office in Nandira village last night.

The incident took place at around 2 am in the night when Pradhan was taking rest in his room. A group of miscreants sneaked into the compound of the camp office and set the MLA’s Toyota Fortuner SUV parked next to an ambulance.

Till the staff of the office came to know about the blaze the miscreants had fled from the spot.

Earlier on August 18 night this year, miscreants had set as many as four vehicles owned by the MLA on fire at his Unit-IV residence in Bhubaneswar when he was away.
