Orissa HC directs ASI to begin repair work of Natamandap

Puri: In a marked development in the matter of the repair of the Natamandap in the Jagannath Temple, the Orissa HC has asked for it to be repaired.

According to the available reports, the Orissa High Court has directed the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) to begin the repair work of the Natamandap.

It is further worth mentioning that a court-appointed amicus curiae shall be appointed to monitor the work and submit reports in every 15 days.

According to reports, the next hearing on the matter shall be held on December 4, said the Court while giving the direction in this regard. Earlier it had been decided that, the laser scanning of Ratna Bhandar in Puri Jagannath Temple is slated to take place on November 28.

There shall be an independent camera through which 3D pictures will be clicked and a survey shall be conducted of the Ratna Bhandar. The pictures shall then be surveyed by a team of experts, said reliable reports. Following this survey a decision in this regard shall be taken.

In the Srimandir managing committee meeting, the ASI has been given permission to conduct laser scanning of Ratna Bhandar in Puri, informed SJTA Chief Administrator Ranjan Das.
