Jaleswar: An unfortunate incident has taken place in Mathani Panchayat under Jaleswar Basta Block, said reliable reports in this regard on Wednesday.
The Panchayat Executive Officer Bhagat Vishal was locked inside the office all night on the charges of embezzlement of ward member’s allowance money. There has been agitation in the Panchayat. According to the information, the ward members of Mathani Panchayat did not get their allowance for as long as seven months.
In this regard, after asking the Panchayat Executive Officer, he could not give any satisfactory answer. Ward members and panchayat executive officers started shouting about it.
Panchayat Executive Officer Bhagat Vishal has been accused of embezzling seven months’ worth of allowance. The ward members have locked Bhagat in the panchayat office since yesterday till now, demanding immediate allowance.
