Sundargarh: There has been a Odisha vigilance raid in Sundargarh on Tuesday on a Forest Guard and a Watcher a short while ago.
The government of Odisha employees Sanatan Patra, Forest Guard and Narendra Kalo, Watcher both of Dharanidharpali Nursery under Bonai Forest Range, Sundargarh have been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance.
The duo had allegedly demanded and accepted a of bribe Rs.7,000/- from a Complainant to facilitate release of the seized two-wheeler of her husband.
On the direction of the accused Forest Guard, Patra, watcher Narendra Kalo received bribe money from the Complainant. Accused Sanatan Patra, Forest Guard was present at the spot during the entire process.
The entire bribe of Rs.7,000/- has been recovered from Kalo and seized in the Odisha vigilance raid in Sundargarh. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Patra, Forest Guard from DA angle.
In this connection, Rourkela Vigilance P.S. Case No.32 dtd.18.12.2023, U/s.7 P.C. (Amendment) Act,2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the accused persons namely Patra and Kalo. Detailed reports awaited.
