Odisha makes masks compulsory for these people!

Odisha government adopts Covid appropriate behavior in health institutions, decides to enforce use of mask in health institutions.

Bhubaneswar: In view of the rising Covid cases both in the country and in Odisha, the government has decided to make masks compulsory.

The Odisha government as a part of adopting Covid appropriate behavior in health institutions, has been decided to enforce to use of mask in all health institutions in the state as per the following notice.

Masks have been made compulsory for the following people:

  • All healthcare providers during duty hours.
  • All officials and others present in the meetings.
  • During congregation of people particularly in close rooms.
  • Persons providing clinical/laboratory & other support services in the hospital setting.
  • While visiting areas having possibility of high transmission.
  • Persons with influenza like illness.

Furthermore, the Health and Family Welfare Department, Odisha on Monday took to Twitter and said, “As #COVID19 cases are witnessing a surge across the Country and State, #Odisha Government has decided to enforce usage of masks in @HFWOdisha (all health institutions).

All healthcare providers, officials, persons providing laboratory services etc. must wear masks.”

The active Covid cases in Odisha had crossed the 3000 mark in the last 24 hours, informed the health department.

As many as 382 fresh Covid infections have been reported from Odisha in the last 24 hours on Monday said reliable Government reports. With the new cases of Covid infections, the active caseload in Odisha now stands at 3032.

Earlier on Sunday, Odisha reported 502 fresh active Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the state health department informed.

It is worth mentioning that the active cases in Odisha have risen to 3032. As many as 276 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours.
