Odisha heatwave condition: Mercury touches 40 degrees Celsius for first time this summer, likely to increase further

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has started to reel under severe heatwave condition with mercury touching the 40 degrees Celsius-mark for the first time this summer and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting further rise of temperature in coming days.

Titilagarh, Balangir, Boudh, Bhawanipatna and Nayagarh are the five places the five places which boiled at 40 degrees Celsius temperature.

Likewise, five places recorded above 39 degrees Celcius. They are Angul (39.1), Jharsuguda (39.1), Talcher (39.8), Nabarangpur (39) and Phulbani (39.2).

The weatherman, meanwhile, predicted that the maximum day temperature will see a gradual rise by 2 degrees Celsius in the next 48 hours. Likewise, the minimum night temperature is also expected to rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius during the next 4 to 5 days.
