Odisha: Fire breaks out at Paralakhemundi Municipality office, important documents reduced to ashes

Paralakhemundi: A massive fire broke out at the Paralakhemundi Municipality under Odisha’s Gajapati district on Sunday midnight. The ablaze reduced many important documents to ashes.

The incident occurred at around midnight of Sunday. Fortunately no one got injured in the fire incident, however, many important documents including some documents pertaining to the next general elections are reduced to ashes.

According to sources, the fire was originated from the storeroom of the office. After receiving information about the incident, the fire service personnel immediately reached the spot and doused the blaze.

However, the exact reason behind the blaze is yet to be ascertained. The fire service personnel suspect that short circuit inside the storeroom might have led to the mishap.
Further detailed reports related to the matter are awaited.

Earlier last week, property worth several lakhs of rupees was allegedly turned into ashes after a fire broke out at a jewellery shop in Nimchouri area of Cuttack city.

In a similar instance, a man was killed while 31 others sustained injury following a massive fire mishap that took place at a perfume factory in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh on February 2.

The incident took place at the NR Aroma perfume factory near Jharmajri, Nalagarh.

Reportedly, after getting alerted as many as five fire tenders reached the spot. Also, the State Health Minister Dhani Ram Shandil, DGP Sanjay Kundu and other officials reached the spot and took stock of the situation.

Since chemicals and ethyl alcohol used in the factory it became difficult to control the fire.

On the same day, a massive fire broke out in a factory in the industrial area of Sinnar in Nashik of Maharashtra. Sharing about the incident, media agency ANI quoted, “Fire tenders are present at the spot.” Meanwhile, number of casualties or injuries were reported.
