Odisha Congress to hold Tulsi Yatra on December 1

Bhubaneswar: PCC President Sharat Patnaik addressed the media at the Congress bhawan in Bhubaneswar and said that a Tulsi yatra will be held.  The Congress had held a mega rally in Puri on October 16.

The rally was held for the fulfillment of various demands relating to the famous Jagannath temple. According to reports, a huge Congress rally in Puri has been organized for immediate opening of the four doors of the temple for the devotees, opening of the Ratna Bhandar, counting and repair of the jewels and permanent solution to the land acquisition problem of Jagannath Temple.

MLAs, former MLAs, youth, students, Women’s Congress and workers united under the leadership of State PCC President Sharad Patnaik in the holy city of Puri. After the meeting, the procession of the Congress proceeded to the administrative office of the Jagannath temple.

However, there was a situation of chaos as the police barricaded and stopped them on Marichikot road. Congress leaders and workers broke the police barricade and rushed in.

Similarly, they stormed into the administration office of Jagannath Temple and gave a letter of demand to the Chief Administrator of Jagannath Temple on behalf of the Governor.

In the holy month of Kartik is, there will be an unbelievable crowd of devotees with Habhisali in Puri of Odisha. Earlier, the Congress party demanded to open the four doors of the shrine for devotees. Congress held mega rally in Puri of Odisha today.

These four gates should be opened and arranged before the Heritage Corridor work is completed. Similarly, it has been demanded to immediately open the inner Ratna Bhandar of Mahaprabhu Jagannath, the symbol of faith and belief of Odias, and check and count the jewels.

The deadline of October 29 was given for meeting of the demands, but no action was taken.
There was a warning that there would be a movement. As the government did not take any action in this regard.

Reports say that, a Sankirtan Satyagraha was performed in front of Lord Jagannath on November 9 to resolve claims. PCC President announced that the movement will continue until the demands are fulfilled, a Tulsi Yatra on December 1 will be organized he furter informed.

Patnaik further informed that Tulsi will be collected from all the blocks and cities of the state, common people, Jagannath lovers, seniors, devotees, young men and women, students, poor people, brothers and sisters. On December 1 the tulsi collected from all over the state will be taken to the shrine. Further it was added that the Congressmen and leaders will gather together and offer Tulsi to Lord Jagannath as a mark of protest.
