Puri: Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik will be inaugurating the Odia University in Puri today. The university is located at Bakulabana under Satyabadi block in the coastal district of Odisha.
Special arrangements have been made in the Panchasakha area of Satyabadi for the inaugural ceremony. On Gopabandhu Das Jayanti in 2018, the foundation stone for Odia University in Puri was laid by CM Naveen Patnaik. The campus will soon be open for students and researchers. Many prominent linguists and writers have been invited to attend the inaugural ceremony.
The university will be operational from the second week of February. The first World Odia Language Conference will be held from February 3 to February 5. Students will be allowed inside the campus after the conference. Additionally, two new programs are likely to be added in the curriculum.
The students of Odia University have been receiving education in panchayat premises of the Sakhigopal area for the past six months. The Odia university holds classrooms, hostels, canteens, and a swimming pool for its students. State of the art facilities will be provided for effective learning of the students.
