Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday bought the first ticket for the opening ceremony of the much-awaited Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar-2018 which is to be held at the Kalinga Stadium on November 27.
Patnaik bought the ticket of the mega event at a cost of Rs 500. Hockey India CEO Elena Norman handed over the ticket to the CM at the state Secretariat, who himself paid the ticket fare.
The Chief Minister also, taking to his Twitter handle, expressed his happiness for having bought the first ticket of the grand event.

Speaking about the sale of the tickets, Elena said, “The tickets will only be available for sale online. There will be no complimentary tickets, no passes. Like the honourable CM, everyone should go online tomorrow at 12.00 noon to make sure to purchase the tickets.”
The Hockey India yesterday had announced that the online sale of the opening ceremony of the international hockey will be available only online at http://ticketgenie.in/event/hwc-opening-ceremony from November 20 at 12.00 pm.
Music maestro AR Rahman and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan are slated to perform at the opening ceremony of Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2018.
The Hockey India will also hold a celebration event at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on the following day with Rahman and other Bollywood stars.
Around 10,500 tickets would be sold for the opening ceremony in Bhubaneswar and 30,000 tickets will be sold for the November 28 event.
