Odisha Chief Electoral Officer to hold All-Party Meet Today

Bhubaneswar: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) in Odisha will hold an all-party meeting here on Thursday to discuss several issues in view of the upcoming elections to the Lok Sabha and the State Assemblies.

CEO Surendra Kumar will chair the meet in which leaders and representatives of several political parties are likely to attend.  The agenda for the meeting includes measures to improve the accuracy, transparency and inclusivity of electoral rolls in view of the 2019 general elections, sources said.

On August 27, the Chief Election Commission of India convened a meeting of all recognised national and regional parties to discuss to discuss various issues including the fidelity of electoral rolls and gender representation in political parties in view of 2019 general polls.

Seven national parties and 34 State parties attended the meeting.
