Cuttack: National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Rekha Sharma today demanded CBI investigation into the Mamita Meher murder case.
After her meeting with Odisha DGP Sunil Bansal, Rekha Sharma said that the Mamita Meher murder case should be handed over to the CBI as several points have emerged after police filed the charge sheet of the case in the court.
“I discussed with him (Odisha DGP) about the case and asked him to relook into the matter and make changes in the charge sheet as several points have now come to the fore after police filed the charge sheet at the court, which needs to be investigated and added in the charge sheet. I also asked him to recommend the State government to hand over the case to CBI,” she said adding that I cannot investigate the matter as it is sub judice.
