Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar (Central) MLA Anant Narayan Jena paid a fine of Rs 500 today for violating traffic rules in the city. He had been to take part in a traffic sensitization drive when the incident took place.
As per the report, Jena went to AG Square in the city where a traffic awareness drive was being held this morning. After his driver parked his vehicle at a ‘No Parking Zone’ near the busy street, a bystander took the matter to the notice of Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Sahoo post which the traffic action was initiated against him.
The challan for Rs 500 was issued against Jena by a cop in the presence of the DCP.
Notably, the Commissionerate Police today held a sensitization drive on traffic rules near AG Square after scores of people attacked a police van at Rajmahal Square yesterday over hefty fine collection by traffic under amended Motor Vehicle Act.
