Spice Jet flight makes emergency landing at Bhubaneswar for sick passenger

Bhubaneswar: A Kolkata-bound Spice Jet flight made an emergency landing at Biju Patnaik International Airport here after a passenger on-board reported sickness mid-air.

The incident took place at 11.15 am in Spice Jet 623, which left Chennai at 9:35 am.

The sick passenger identified as Ashok Kumar Sharma (48) reportedly complained of breathing problem a few minutes after the departure of the flight post which it was diverted to Bhubaneswar airport.

Sharma, who was taken to Terminal 1 Arrival medical room for a check-up in an AAI fire ambulance, was later rushed to Apollo Hospital for treatment but doctors declared him brought dead there.
