Angul: A man was brutally beaten to death by his younger brother following a land dispute in Badibahal village under Handappa police limits in the district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Yudhisthira Tangi.
A verbal duel erupted between Yudhisthira and his younger brother late in the night on Thursday over a long standing land dispute. As the heated argument escalated into a fight between the duo, both of them took out sticks and attacked each other. Yudhisthira died on the spot. A neighbour of the family who tried to meddle in the dispute between the brothers also sustained injury during the brawl.
Police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem at Angul District Headquarters Hospital and rushed the injured to SCB Medical in Cuttack.
Police are trying to trace the accused brother who is absconding since the incident.
