Make in Odisha Conclave-2018: Odisha receives investment proposals worth Rs 4.19 lakh crore

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday informed that the state received investment proposals worth Rs 4.19 lakh crore during in the Make in Odisha Conclave-2018 held at Janata Maidan here.

Addressing the valedictory session of conclave this evening Patnaik said, “I would like to thank each one of you for joining Odisha’s juggernaut towards becoming the manufacturing hub of the east. The Make in Odisha Conclave 2018 was initiated in 2016 to realize our Odisha Industrial Development Plan: Vision 2025 to attract new manufacturing investment worth Rs 2,50,00 crore and create 30 lakh job opportunities in the identified focus sectors of the state.”

“We have seen an overwhelming response from the industry in this Conclave and  I thank you for reaffirming your faith in the state and her people. We are enthused with the participation of industry captains, young entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurs, MSMEs, students and experts from across various sectors. I am glad that “I am Odisha,’ the theme of this year’s Conclave has been a grand success. Many fascinating cases of entrepreneurs and innovators from across the state have emerged from this campaign,” he added.

The Odisha CM said, “MIO 2018 Conclave witnessed an overall investment intent of Rs 4, 19,574 crores across 15 diversified sectors which shall create 5, 91,000 additional jobs.”

Patnaik said, “I am confident that the policy ecosystem and the investment opportunities showcased in the Conclave, and the deliberations held at the various sessions would help the State emerge as the most preferred investment destinations in the country.”

The CM announced that the next edition of the ‘Make in Odisha Conclave’ will be held from November 30 to December 4 in 2020.

The Conclave saw tremendous response with 5,074 industry captains and delegates from India and abroad participating in the event. 31,806 people have already visited the largest-ever industrial expo set up by the State. Japan was the Partner Country for the Conclave.
