Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Odisha CM welcomes ECI’s announcement, assures wholehearted support

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday welcomed the Election Commission of India’s announcement for elections to Odisha Assembly and Lok Sabha to be held in four phases in April.

Taking to his twitter handle, Patnaik, apart from welcoming the ECI’s announcement, assured to provide wholehearted support for the electoral process.

It is worthwhile to mention here that Chief Election Commissioner of India Sunil Arora informed that the Lok Sabha and State Assembly elections will be held in Odisha simultaneously in four phases.

While the first phase polling will be held on April 11, the second phase on April 18. Likewise, the third and fourth phase elections will be held on April 23 and April 29 respectively in Odisha which has 147 State Assembly seats and 21 Lok Sabha seats.

The counting will be held on May 23 and the result will be known on the same day.

With the announcement of the election dates by the ECI, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into effect from today itself across the country.
