Lady Principal In-Charge Of Panchayat Samiti Higher Secondary School Arrested For Taking Bribe In Odisha

Balangir: The Principal in-charge of Bangomunda Panchayat Samiti Higher Secondary School in Balangir district of Odisha has been arrested for demanding and taking bribe on Monday. The accused principal has been identified as Minati Rath.

Minati Rath was arrested by the Vigilance officers of Sambalpur Division while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs 80,000 from one Dolamani Meher of Gohirapadar village under Bangomunda police limits of the district.

As complained by Meher, the Principal in-charge had demanded the bribe from him for not to suspend him from his service.

Acting on the allegation leveled against Rath by Meher, the anti-corruption team laid a trap and caught her red-handed. They also seized the entire bribe money from her possession.

The Sambalpur Vigilance Division registered a case in this connection Under Section 7 P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018.

Further investigation is underway.
