Bhubaneswar: Kalinga TV celebrated its 5th foundation day through an elaborate function at the Swosti Premium Hotel here on Sunday.
The event kickstarted with a welcome address by Mr. Himansu Sekhar Khatua, the Chief Managing Director of Kalinga TV.
This was followed by a video presentation and felicitation of guests by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of Kalinga TV, KIIT & KISS and Lok Sabha MP, Kandhamal.
Post this, an annual report pertaining to the channel’s performance and growth was presented by Mr. Soumyajit Pattnaik, the Chief Editor of Kalinga TV.
The annual report presentation was followed by guest speeches by Cuttack Lok Sabha MP Bhartruhari Mahatab, senior journalist and Padma Bhushan awardee Prabhu Chawla, and Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari.
Raghunandan Das, State Minister of I&PR, Water Resources and senior politician and Congress MLA Narasingha Mishra also addressed the audience at the event.
The function concluded after a Presidential Address by Dr. Samanta, followed by a vote of thanks by Durga Madhab Mishra, Deputy Chief Editor, Kalinga TV.
The event was graced by eminent personalities from the realm of journalism, art, and literature, including Dr. Iti Samanta, chairperson of Kadambini Media and editor of monthly magazine Kadambini.
Noteworthy, Kalinga TV was launched on April 14, 2015, by Kalinga Media and Entertainment- a unit of KIIT Group Of Institutions, owned by social worker and Kandhamal MP Dr. Achyuta Samanta.
Ever since inception, the channel has been dedicatedly working towards the idea of “objective and accurate reporting”; broadcasting news, educational and entertainment programmes for viewers.
