IMD issues yellow warnings for fog in Odisha for next three days, check details
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow warnings for fog for the coastal, interior and southern districts of Odisha for the next three days.
Bhubaneswar: With the rise of the night temperature, the cold weather that has been affecting Odisha for the last few days has subsided and the cold and dry wind that has been blowing to the state from the north-west for a week is gradually weakening, informed H R Biswas, the director of regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD).
A fog warning has been issued for the coastal, interior and southern districts of Odisha for the next three days, he informed.
Valid upto 8.30 AM of December 29:
Yellow warning for fog:
- Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada and Koraput.
- Dry weather very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
- Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha .

- Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Balangir, Sonepur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar and Sundergarh.
- Dry weather very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
- Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Balangir, Sonepur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Keonjhar and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.
As many as four places recorded temperature below 10 degree Celsius. With, 7.1 degrees, Koraput was the coldest city in the state, while Semiliguda, Udayagiri and Daringbadi witnessed 8.3 degrees, 9 degrees and 9.5 degrees respectively.
Similarly, Cuttack shivered at 16.2 degrees while Bhubaneswar witnessed a temperature of 17 degree Celsius.
