Angul: In an unfortunate incident, a nine-year old boy was killed while his father sustained critical injuries after a wall of their house built under the Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) collapsed over them at Jamunda village under Nisha police limits of the district late on Friday night.
The tragic incident, which took place while Dushasan Behera and his family were asleep in the night, caused the death of Dushasan’s son, identified as Dushmant Behera, on the spot.
According to sources, the wall of the IAY house caved in over the Beheras after a wall of another house fell over it.
Meanwhile, tension erupted at Angul District Headquarters Hospital due to alleged unavailability of doctors to treat Dushasan.
Locals were angry over the fact that no one was there to attend to him in the hospital. They also questioned the quality of work of the Indira Awas Yojana house constructed three years ago.
