Financial incentives of Anganwadi workers, helpers in Odisha increased

Bhubaneswar: In what can be considered as a good news for the Anganwadi Workers, Mini Anganwadi Workers and Helpers, the Odisha government increased their financial incentive today.

According to Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has increased Anganwadi Workers’ financial incentive to Rs 40,000 from Rs 20,000.

Likewise, Patnaik increased the financial incentive of the Mini Anganwadi Workers to Rs 30,000 from Rs 15,000 and Helpers’ incentive to Rs 20,000 from Rs 10,000.

Besides, they would get leaves if they are admitted at the State-run government hospital or a hospital empanelled by the government for treatment.

It is to be noted here that the Odisha government provides the incentive as a measure of social security of the Anganwadi Workers, Mini Anganwadi Workers and Helpers after they are disengaged post becoming 62-year-olds.

The financial incentive will be given from January 1, 2019 with retrospective effect. This would benefit over 1.3 lakh Anganwadi Workers.

According to reports, the 1,991 Anganwadi Workers, Mini Anganwadi Workers and Helpers who have been disengaged from January 2019 to till now, will also get the benefit.
