Fake Govt Officer In Odisha Collects Lakhs Of Rupees From Villagers For Providing Labour Card

Titlagarh: A fake government officer in Odisha has managed to collect lakhs of rupees from villagers on the pretext of making Labour cards and managed to flee without getting caught.

This incident has been reported from Mahulapada panchayat in Titlagarh block of Titlagarh district in the state.

A person named Pradeep Patra impersonated as a government official and collected Lakhs of rupees from villagers for making labour card.

Pradeep charged the villagers for a sum of 500 rupees each for processing the documents and getting them a labour card.

Sensing foul play in the matter some youth questioned him about the justification of money charged. As Pradeep could not give satisfactory answer, the Sarpanch was informed.

Before any action could be taken by the Sarpanch, Pradeep managed to flee the spot with the money.

A video was shot by some villagers during the monetary transaction and it has gone viral. The fake officer Pradeep Patra was identified as a resident of Kurusud Village under Titlagarh block.

The villagers have demanded investigation in the matter. Upon knowing about the matter the Titlagarh Sub collector has asked the people stay aware about various government schemes. If they find any foul play in any scheme or official they should report it to the Police.
