Elephant killed in train accident in Odisha’s Keonjhar

In an unfortunate incident, an elephant was killed after getting hit by a goods train near Joda-Champua range in Odisha's Keonjhar.

Anandpur: In an unfortunate incident, an elephant was killed after getting hit by a goods train. The incident took place near Joda-Champua range nea Palash area under Bamebari bit.

The unfortunate incident took place while the elephant was trying to trying to cross the railway tracks. As per reports from reliable sources, a herd of elephants was crossing the railway tracks when a goods train collided with one of the elephants, causing its death.

Reportedly, the train accident which killed the elephant took place due to the overspeeding of the vehicle. Officials from the Forest department have reached at the location of the accident. An investigation into the matter has been initiated. Further details awaited.
