Cyclone Hamoon makes landfall, to weaken into depression in next 6 hours

As per the latest update from reliable sources, cyclone 'Hamoon' has started weakening as it heads towards the land.

Bhubaneswar: Cyclone ‘Hamoon’ over the Bay of Bengal has started making landfall along the coast of Bangladesh.

During the early morning hours, cyclone ‘Hamoon’ started its landfall process on the south of Chittagong along the Bangladesh coast. The wind speed increased from 80 km per hour to 100 km per hour.

As per the latest update from reliable sources, cyclone ‘Hamoon’ has started weakening as it heads towards the land. Weather forecasts predict that the cyclone will weaken into depression within the next six hours.

Yesterday, ‘Hamoon’ weakened from very severe cyclonic storm to a severe cyclonic storm. It is likely to weaken further gradually.

It is to be noted that Odisha is not expected to be directly affected by this cyclone. Fishermen are advised not to venture into sea along and off Odisha coast and West central and North Bay of Bengal till 25 October.
