Elephant herd trapped in Tel River in Boudh district

A herd of 12 elephants was trapped in the middle of Tel river near Manikpur village in Kantamal range of Boudh district on Thursday morning

Kantamal: A herd of 12 elephants was trapped in the middle of Tel river near Manikpur village in Kantamal range of Boudh district on Thursday morning.

According to forest officials, the elephants came from Sunadei jungle and got stuck while crossing the river on the floodplain due to the sudden rise  in water level in the river.

Locals spotted the stranded elephants and alerted the forest range office. Soon, forest officials reached the spot to rescue the herd.
