Jajpur: An elderly man was hacked to death by a mentally unstable youth at Jamdhar village under Sadar Police limits in Jajpur district on Saturday morning.
The deceased man has been identified as Kalandi Mallik, a native of Swapneswarpur village.
Reports say, the accused Surendra Behera was roaming with a sharp weapon in the village. He brutally attacked Kalandi while he was passing in front of his house this morning. Following which he died on the spot.
On receiving information, Sadar police reached the spot and have detained the accused for questioning.
