Doctors In Odisha’s Capital Successfully Conduct Rare Surgery, Rejoin Hand

Bhubaneswar: Amid tension of coronavirus outbreak, lock down and other such depressing news, here is something that will make one feel better.

A team of doctors led by Dr. Akshay Kumar Rout have successfully rejoined the hand of a man. The surgery was conducted at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar by a team of doctors. It took them around 10 long hours to complete the entire surgery.

In a freak accident, the driver (25) a native of Medinipur district was driving his truck with his hand sticking out of the window and it got severed from the wrist as another truck drove too close to his truck. The incident took place on June 2.

The man was immediately admitted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar where the doctors instantly arranged for blood and carried on the surgery without waiting for the COVID report.

The doctors successfully rejoined the hand. The patient is now recuperating at the hospital. The surgery was a success. The team of doctors have said that this is a rare surgery and are delighted at the fact that it has turned out to be successful.
