Dense fog to be witnessed in Odisha for next 3 days

Thick fog continues to blanket most parts of Odisha. Forecasts suggest that fog is likely to be witnessed in Odisha for the next 3 days. 

Bhubaneswar: With every passing day, the intensity of winter in the state continues to decrease. Meanwhile, thick fog continues to blanket most parts of Odisha. Forecasts suggest that dense fog is likely to be witnessed in Odisha for the next three days.

Due to the influence of active high pressure system over the coastal areas of Odisha adjoining Bay of Bengal, dense fog continues to prevail in several areas across the state.

Heavy fog in the state has disrupted daily life. Today, fog has covered several areas of the state including twin city Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. Commuters are facing difficulties while driving on roads due to reduced visibility. The regional meteorological department predicts that dense fog will continue in state till January 21.

In view of the same, cautionary alerts have been sent to administrators of 18 districts of Odisha. Meanwhile, three districts of the state are likely to experience slight to moderate rainfall on January 24. These districts include Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Balasore.
