Cyclonic Storm in Bay of Bengal on Dec 3, rain likely in Odisha

A cyclonic storm in Bay of Bengal on December 3, is likely to make landfall in southern India, rain likely in Odisha.

Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic storm in Bay of Bengal on December 3, is likely to make landfall in North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh coasts on December 4. It is worth mentioning that a well-marked low pressure area has formed over Southeast Bay of Bengal.

Yesterday’s well-marked low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman sea moved west-northwestwards and lay over Southeast Bay of Bengal. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over southeast bay of Bengal during next 24 hours.

Continuing to move further west-northwestwards, it would intensify gradually into a cyclonic storm over southwest bay of Bengal around December 3 thereafter, it would move northwestwards and reach near north Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh coasts around December 4 as a cyclonic storm.

RAIN IS LIKELY IN ODISHA IN THE FOLLOWING PLACES: 

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower very likely to occur on December 4 at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Kandhamal on December 4.

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam and at one or two places over the rest districts of Coastal Odisha, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Nuapada and Kandhamal on December 5.

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and at a few places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, Nuapada, Bolangir, Boudh and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha on December 6.

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of
Coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and
at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha on December 7.
