Cuttack: Odisha Vigilance conducted a raid on properties associated with the Executive Engineer Drainage Division of Gandarpur, Cuttack on Wednesday morning on the allegation of accumulation of disproportionate assets.
The Executive Engineer has been identified as Manoj Kumar Behera.
Simultaneous searches are being conducted by Odisha Vigilance led by four Deputy superintendents of police (DSPs), eight Inspectors, and other staff.
Based on a piece of reliable information, the vigilance sleuths have conducted raids at four places in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack.
1) Residential double storied building of SO Sri Manoj Kumar Behera located at Mahanadi Vihar, Cuttack over plot no-1333/P, PS-Chauliaganj,Dist-Cuttack
2) Paternal house of SO Sri Manoj Kumar Behera located at Vill-Lendura Bhagabanpur, PS-Nemala, Dist-Cuttack
3) Office room of SO Sri Manoj Kumar Behera, Executive Engineer Irrigation, Drainage Division, located at Gandarpur, Cuttack
4) Flat in the name of Debasmita Behera (wife of SO) located over plot no -668, Utkal Heights, Pahala, Bhubaneswar
During searches so far, the following movable and immovable assets have been unearthed:
1) Cash Rs 3,31,960/- including RS.75,500/- recovered from vegetable tray kept inside the refrigerator.
2) Palatial double storeyed building at Mahanadi Vihar, Cuttack constructed over plot no.1333-P.
3) Flat in the name of Smt. Debasmita Behera over plot No.668, Khata No.352/165 (Utkal Heights Pahala, Bhubaneswar) at mouja Pahala-5, Bhubaneswar worth over Rs.34.52 Lakhs.
4) Gold Jewelery approx 480 gms.
5) 6 plots in prime area of Cuttack, Bhubaneswar as per details below:
5a) 1 Plot at mouja Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar vide plot No.464, Khata No.504 in the name of Sri Behera, E.E. worth Rs.19.80 Lakhs.
5b) 1 Plot at Mahanadi Vihar, Cuttack vide plot No.1333-P in the name of Sri Behera, EE. worth Rs.8.64 Lakhs.
5c) 2 Plots at mouja Jagamara-38, Bhubaneswar vide plot No.982/6735, Khata No.1133/3116 and plot No. 665/6733, Khata No.1133/3114 in the name of Smt. Debasmita Behera (wife) worth Rs.20.90 Lakhs.
5d) 1 Plot at mouja Anantapur-8, Bhubaneswar vide plot No.584/1253, Khata No.266/304 in the name of Smt. Debasmita Behera (wife) worth Rs.12.42 Lakhs.
5e) 1 Plot at mouja Bhanapur, Cuttack vide plot No.2484, Khata No.741 in the name of Smt. Debasmita Behera (wife) worth Rs.9.20 Lakhs.
Valuation of the plots as per Regd Sale Deed comes to Rs 70.94 lakhs. However, undervaluation of the plots during registration is suspected. A thorough probe has been initiated in the matter. The actual price is likely to be much higher. Vigilance Technical Wing will carry out detailed measurement and assessment.
6)Fixed deposits, Bank and Insurance deposits over Rs 31 lakh.
