Angul: A couple was killed after the car they were travelling in dashed against a tree along the roadside near Chheliagada village near Angul town on Saturday.
The deceased persons have been identified as Siba Panda and his wife Pramila Panda. Siba was a NALCO employee and the couple was en route to Angul from Bhubaneswar.
The mishap occurred when Siba lost control over the car, following which it skidded off the road and hit a tree. Locals rescued the duo and admitted them to Angul district headquarters hospital where Pramila died while undergoing treatment.
Siba Das also passed away while being taken to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The Police have initiated a probe into the matter.
