Man Serving Life Imprisonment Dies In Jail, Family Alleges Foul Play

Cuttack: An inmate serving a life sentence at Choudwar Circle Jail in Cuttack district died on Saturday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Subhranshu Das (35). He was convicted in the Keshav Behera murder case and was awarded life imprisonment by the court in 2013.

As per reports, the prisoner had complained of chest pain following which the jail authorities decided to take him to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. However, he breathed his last while being transferred to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased prisoner have alleged foul play. They are claiming that Das has been murdered. A selfie of Das doing rounds on the internet just hours before his death has raised suspicion. An investigation into the matter will be initiated soon.
