Central team to review scrub typhus situation in Sundergarh

A six-member team of health experts from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare today reviewed the scrub typhus situation in the district

Sundergarh: As there is rising cases of scrub tyhpus infections in Sundergarh, a six-member team of health experts from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare today reviewed the situation in the district and neighbouring parts.

The team comprises Dr Samir Gulati, Professor of Medicine, Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi, Dr Tushar Nale, Deputy Director of the National Centre for Disease Control, Dr Dhara B Shah, Assistant Director (Microbiology), National Centre for Disease Control, Dr Arushi Ghai, EIS (Epidemic Intelligence Service) officer, Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP). Two experts from the State Health Department also accompanied the central team.

The review meeting is being held in the conference hall of the CDMO office.

In last 24 hours, 20 more people tested positive for Scrub Typhus, taking the tally to 292.
