Digapahandi: In a shocking incident, the bodies of a woman and her minor son was recovered from a house in Ganjam district said reports on Monday.
According to reports, the bodies of the duo were recovered from their house at Chudialanji under Jarada police limits in Ganjam district. The son is said to be around six-year-old.
The incident allegedly came to light as the woman had not come out of the house since a long time and the neighbors grew suspicious and called her. When they did not get any response, they informed the Jarada police and broke open the door. It was found that the woman identified as D.Nilabati and her six-year-old son had died.
There was a huge crowd of people in front of the house of the deceased mother and son duo. A police probe is underway in this matter. The bodies of the mother and the son have been seized by the police and sent for a postmortem. The report of the postmortem will help in ascertaining the time and the cause of death. On November 6, 2024 in Bhubaneswar a similar incident had taken place, in which Priyanka Mishra was married to accused Suraj on July 14, 2021 as per Hindu custom and rites. But the groom’s family were not happy with the dowry amount and started torturing deceased for demand of additional dowry.
Reports say that later the brother-in-law of the complainant received a phone from the mother-in-law of deceased regarding death of deceased by hanging from the roof of her house using her dupatta. Later, she was shifted to Capital Hospital and where doctor declared her received dead.
Airfield police conducted inquest and Post mortem was conducted by a team of doctors to ascertain her cause of death. While Priyanka’s father-in-law Pradeep Das had alleged that she committed suicide and had extra-marital affairs, her father claimed that she was murdered.
In course of investigation, cops arrested the accused four people.
