Bhubaneswar: Police seizes 50 Kgs cannabis worth 5 lakhs, 3 arrested

Three cannabis traffickers were arrested by the Special Crime Unit from Mega Residency, a Lodge situated in Jaydev Bihar.

Bhubaneswar: Three cannabis traffickers were arrested by the Special Crime Unit from Mega Residency, a Lodge situated in Jaydev Bihar.

The arrested persons have been identified as Ashok Kumar Naik of SagadiaSahi of Kandhamal district, Dushasan Dalei of Nantikiri village of Jajpur district, and Rabi Chandra Digal of Kalinga village of Kandhamal district.

The traffickers had taken one room in this lodge on rent since last one month at Rs 6000 per month, where they were storing ganja to avoid being noticed by police and were retailing it in the twin city. Out of the three accused detained one person is a paddlers of Panikoili, who was supposed to take the consignment today from the lodge in an auto rickshaw.

The auto rickshaw and a bike used for transportation of this ganja have also been seized along with cash and mobile phones. The accused persons will be produced before the Court tomorrow after completion of procedure of investigation.

  • Cash of Rs 15,000
