Bhubaneswar: Massive night blocking with enforcement activities was conducted in Odisha’s capital city of Bhubaneswar on Saturday late night. The strict checking was commenced under the ‘Safe City Drive’ in Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, the checking was conducted in areas Jharpada Golei chawk, Kalpana chawk on CTC ROAD, KIIT Chakk, Tanishq Cut point on Nandankanan Road, Ford chakk on Mancheswar road, Gopabadhu chakk, Jagamara chakk on Khandagiri road, Housing board chakk on Sachibalay Marg, Samantapur on Lewis road, and many other parts of the city till late night.
As per official reports, police personnel of Capital police station, Kharavela Nagar police station, Mancheswar, Laxmisagar and Chandrasekharpur police station were engaged in the checking with the direction of DCP Prateek Singh. Reportedly, the checking was conducted to put a check on drink and drive cases in the capital city.
While patrolling, the police teams were seen keeping a close vigil people who might be inebriated while driving.
