A woman died while four women including two minors went missing after the boat on which they were crossing the Patali River capsized near Tansing village under Padua police limits of Koraput district.
Koraput: A woman died while four women including two minors went missing after the boat on which they were crossing the Patali River capsized near Tansing village under Padua police limits of Koraput district.
According to reports, Lalmani Sisa (23), Sashirekha Alarb (24), Naibina Alarb (25), Pushpanjali Alrab (14) and Shanti Sisa (13) of Tansing village had reportedly gone to Dabela village yesterday to attend a banquet in a country boat.
However, the boat reportedly overturned while they were returning home today. The matter came to light only when some locals spotted the body of a woman floating in the river.
On being informed, Padua police, fire services and ODRAF teams from Nandapur reached the spot and started the rescue operation. They recovered the body of the deceased woman and intensified the search operation to trace the missing persons.
