4-year-old girl crushed to death by pick-up van in Gajapati
4-year-old girl died after she was hit by a pick-up van selling vegetables at Gandaguda village of Gajapati district
Gajapati: In a shocking incident, a 4-year-old girl died after she was allegedly hit by a pick-up van selling vegetables at Gandaguda village under Adaba police limits of Gajapati district.
The deceased has been identified as daughter of Lusiyan Nayak of the same village.
Reports say, Lusiyan Nayak along with his daughter had gone to the market to buy vegetables when his four-year-old daughter came and sat under the pick-up van. The girl was crushed to death when the pick-up van moved forward.
Following the incident, the locals agitated and demanded compensation for the deceased family. On being informed the police reached the spot, recovered the body and tried to calm the agitated villagers.
