30 injured after bus hits tree in Odisha’s Ganjam district

Ganjam: As many as 30 people were injured after a passenger bus hit a tree in Bhanjanagar of Odisha’s Ganjam district. The incident occurred on the Bhanjanagar-Belaguntha road under Belaguntha police limits of the district.

According to sources, the bus was en route from Cuttack to Baliguda when the incident occurred. The bus was carrying over 30 passengers.

On receiving information about the incident, the police rushed to the spot and initiated a probe into the matter. The cops further rushed the injured to the nearby hospital.

Reportedly, among all, the health condition of the eight individuals is said to be critical. Further investigation into the matter is underway.

Earlier today, at least two people were injured after a truck hit a passenger bus from the back and fell into 20-foot gorge in Ghatagaon of Odisha’s Keonjhar district.

According to sources, the incident occurred near Pipilia Chhak. Reportedly, on Friday late at night, the truck hit the bus following which both the vehicles fell into the gorge. In the incident, the drivers of the vehicles were injured, while, the passengers escaped narrowly.
