The Puri sadar police station has arrested three people and detained them for selling brown sugar. The arrested brown sugar peddlers held in Puri have been identified as Banamber Behera, Prashant Pradhan and Chakradhar Behera.
It is worth mentioning here that, 10 grams of brown sugar, along with one bike, three mobiles and Rs. 1200 rupees were seized from them, said reports.
The value of seized brown sugar is estimated to be worth Rs. 1 lakh. The police caught them when all the three men were standing with their bikes on the Maltipatpur overbridge with the seized brown sugar.
The Puri sadar police had got a reliable tip-off relating to the matter and chased them and caught them along with the contraband, said reliable reports.
