Cuttack: At least two women have been killed after being hit by an unknown vehicle in Ratapata area under Badamba block of Cuttack district on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Rangabati Sahu (60) and Tara Nayak (45) of the same locality.
The victim duo had been to take bath in a canal flowing on the outskirts of the village when the accident took place. On their way back to home driver of an unknown vehicle struck the duo from the rear and mowed down.
While both the victims were killed on the spot, angry locals staged a blockade on Cuttack-Narasinghpur road demanding arrest of the accused driver.
Police rushed to the spot of late and pacified the mob after sending the bodies for autopsy.
