2 killed in bus-scooty collision in Odisha’s Ganjam district

Ganjam: In a tragic incident, two people were killed after the scooty they were travelling in collided with a bus in Odisha’s Ganjam district. The accident occurred near College Chakk under Kotinada police limits of the district.

The deceased have been identified as K. Rakesh and Kunal Sahu of Goshani Nuagaon of Berhampur. According to sources, the K Rakesh and Kunal Sahu were travelling on their scooty when a passenger coming from the opposite side collided with them.

Following the incident, the two were immediately rushed to the nearby hospital, however, the doctor who attended them, declared the duo to be dead. Fortunately, no passengers on board were injured.

After receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot and initiated a probe into the matter. Further detailed reports related to the matter are awaited.

Earlier yesterday, as many as 10 people were injured after a pick-up van overturned in Odisha’s Sambalpur district. Reports say, in the accident in Sambalpur, the van overturned and more than 10 workers were injured in the incident. The accident took place on National Highway No. 55 in Hatibari, Sambalpur.

All the injured have been admitted to the Sambalpur District Headquarter Hospital. Among those injured later updated reports said that, four of them are in critical condition and have been shifted to VIMSAR in Burla.

The van carrying laborers traveling from Sambalpur to Jujumura when it lost its balance and overturned on the roadside. As a result, 10 people in the vehicle were injured. All the injured have been rescued and admitted to the nearest medical center. Jujumura police reached the spot and are investigating into the matter.
